Devil's Postpile National Monument, California
Biodiversity is defined as the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem. I was drawn to this intimate nature scene at Devil's Postpile National Monument in the Eastern Sierra Nevada of California at 7,560 feet above sea level just west of the Sierra Nevada crest by the amazing variety within the crevasses of the columnar basalt formations which formed around 100,000 years ago.
