Bodie Ghost Town, Eastern Sierra Nevada, California
In 1876, the discovery of a profitable deposit of gold-bearing ore transformed Bodie from an isolated mining camp to a classic Wild West boomtown with approximately 5,000 to 7,000 inhabitants at peak, making it California's second or third largest city at the time but all the glory is long gone and now, the remnants of the past can be enjoyed, like this old rusty veteran car during a howling dust storm.
